Privacy notice

Draft for owner review. This notice describes exactly what the site does today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

What we collect

You can use One Prayer Together without an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location.

  • An anonymous participant cookie. When you open a gathering we set a random identifier in a cookie (op_pid). It lets us avoid counting one browser twice and lets “Amen” be recorded once per gathering. We store only a salted hash of it. It expires after 30 days and is not linked to any identity.
  • Presence heartbeats. While a gathering page is open, your browser sends a small “still here” signal every 15 seconds. We keep the most recent one per browser per gathering and delete rows within a day. This produces the approximate “here now” number.
  • Hourly counts. We count events like page visits, join taps, audio starts, playback failures, share and calendar downloads, and clicks on the optional action card. These are stored only as hourly totals, not per person, and never record what you prayed for.
  • Amen. If you tap Amen, we store one row with the gathering and your hashed participant identifier so it is not counted twice. These rows are deleted after 90 days.
  • Return visits. We set a flag in your browser's local storage so we can count repeat visits in aggregate. Clearing site data removes it.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived request logs that include IP addresses, used for security and rate limiting.

What we do not do

  • No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts, no social-media pixels.
  • No selling or sharing of data, and no building of religious-interest profiles.
  • No location maps, no fingerprinting, no inference of sensitive facts from attendance.
  • We do not collect email addresses unless an opt-in reminder feature is turned on, and it is currently off.

Links to other organizations

Sometimes the optional action after a prayer links to an outside organization's own website. Those sites have their own privacy practices. We measure only that the link was clicked.

Your choices

Clearing your browser cookies and site data removes everything we can associate with your browser. Because we do not know who you are, we cannot look up or export a personal record for you; there is none to find. Questions can be sent to the site owner through the contact listed on the About page.

Children

One Prayer Together is intended for adults and for families praying together under adult guidance. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
